Walking On Water

A long awaited adventure was taken forth on our home river. Long before acquiring a jet boat, our family peered down on our homely stretches, thinking of what it would be like to soar up and down super shallow and deep stretches with ease. A good handful of times, we have floated down lots of familiar stretches, but not nearly all of them. Due to times crunch to see all you can with the speed of the flow, opportunities were shorter than what can be made now.

Lots of shallow riffles keep the conventional propellor boat from navigating back up, and people with strong backs and legs pull light craft back up, but most of the time isn't worth the effort and strain. Lewis and Clark and his party made this very voyage across hundreds of miles, when dams were a thing of the future, mass quantities of water consumption didn't exist and nature still had it's original balance. A whole different world than what is experienced today.

This Alumacraft Experimental Water Walker jet boat soars across just inches of water, making long trips into short bursts of fun! A first time on a river with a jet boat can be very nerve racking, however with practice and experience, this is a very formidable river vessel. It gets you and your gear up and down to where cool things wait to be re-discovered. Spectacles both new and from my youth appear, like old totems welcoming us again on our new mode of transportation. A great first run on our home stream with our new jet boat! A whole different perspective is given to those who walk on water.............

American Mink, so adorable
Rainbow Trout
Westslope Cutthroat Trout
Grew up using a spin rod from a young age, but tend to use a fly rod more often nowadays. I dont forget my ancestral use of a spin rod, and always use single-hook barbless lures! The only thing that would touch a fish, fly fishing was unproductive at this time
