It all starts out with what you want to do on this special day. Of course to spend time with your father is the optimum opportunity, although this isn't guaranteed for everyone. I am very lucky to be able to spend the time that I do with my dad. As time goes on, everyone wishes they spent the time with family and friends more often they had.

What was thought to be a simple ride up the pass and back from Belgrade transformed into an additional thrill for the spirit. As one goes up the pass, the scent of fresh creek air and a rocky road under your tires pleases your senses. Large veins of pre-historic stone mimick walls of the mountain, welcoming many who have tackled the pass. Looking down on an ever growing valley where life is such a race, life up here in the mountains slows down time for one to enjoy natures pure, and clean equity. As life is meant to be.

Visiting the pass many times in the past, something else was offered to us. More time and the motivation to see something new. Our curiosity has lead us hiking through lush meadows of bio-diverse plant life and stony hillsides. Tall pines make the shade that the plants thrive under, and sage clusters shelter large grouse and many others animals. Flowers and plants of many varieties bloom, painting the meadows with all colors to enjoy.

After a brief uphill hike, the sun shines through the trees, granting us the end of our search for the ridgeline. Open skies and visuals at a 360 degree birds level eye view, we are astonished at our accomplishment of a rewarding magnificence we get to share.

Once on the ridge, little meadows of white "Spring Beauties" and pink "Jeffreys Shooting Stars" greet you kindly with their soothing abundance. Pine trees of much character and age watch many come up and down the mountain. For I respect them as natures elders, as they have lived here far before any other animal or plant.

If you so kindly put the human part's aside, looking up and out at the natural world, you will percieve it on eagles wings......... An awesome fathers day with my dad, doing what we love to do in our home of Montana.....
