Many people don't understand the logic of the ice fisherman. The world of frozen water, seems so desolate and cold out there. Being unprepared could lead us stuck in time amongst the ice we tread upon. Frozen air that bites exposed skin, freezing any stillwater within minutes. Always chugging around a heavy sled which mimicks a boat anchor, harnessing unique gadgets for survival. Are they crazy? Or just plumb full of spirit for adventure? Many people may ask," Is it really worth the danger and calorie burn for uncertainty?". Well, that all depends on how far you'll go for something you truly love. A frozen plane of doom for some, while a canvas of opportunity for ice anglers.
There is always an interesting intrigue about why ice fisherman pursuit the way they do. A motivation to push boundaries where hope appears lifeless is a bountiful quest, if your smart, and strong enough for the sports demand. Over sweat and proper planning, in the end you'll earn the ultimate prize worth searching for, your freedom. Open skies, along with brisk, clean air are the days we crave upon in winters long solace. If we choose wisely, we'll meet some fine fish through the ice. "I am their friend", therefore I give them equal respect as they have for me. Allowing me to catch them and visit them softly before I return them back home. Freedom unscathed is what I receive, so I give it back to them in return for natures mysterious knowledge. After hours of successful catches and misses, the sun creeps low, cold descends quick along with remaining sunlight and I must plan to get out of here. The passion for trout gives me the strength to amend my heavy load back up the challenging terrain to my vehicle. Using all the strength I had to pull my sled up the steep inclines, I could barely walk upon the flat road I met, returning to my vehicle floating on a cloud. I am prosperous to have good health to do the things I enjoy doing, and I don't enjoy much anything else with the same enthusiasm as I do working for trout. If you still don't understand the logic of an ice fisherman, maybe you'll understand why "I'm an Ice Fisherman"........
